Poplar, silver dogtags. Corners joined using veneer splines in a technique often used in more awkwardly-angled joints, for example to join the bent side to the tail of a harpsichord, and I quite liked the idea of the different woods showing how the joint was made. Later I learned that this type of joint is quite common among box-makers, and have completed a number of boxes using it (see later photos)
