First attempts

From about 1990 onwards. In this picture and following, the pointed bowl shape is made from a hardened resin mould set into two wooden blocks, with pins at each corner to keep them aligned (see later picture). The flat silver blank is annealed and put into the mould, which is then put into a vice or hammered, and the process repeated until the shape is complete. The original for the mould was an elegant Georgian spoon
