Villiers reception

Standing at the Villiers reception desk that I designed and made, which led to being offered the job of Purchasing Manager at the company; with Dependable Graham, who was, obviously, a very reliable supplier; both innovative and traditional, his company makes parts for aircraft. Graham himself made the octagonal punch I use for cutting oyster veneers, so the first artefact (the tray which can be seen elsewhere) using these was given to him. The JAP engine in the foreground was a product of the company J.A.Prestwich, famous for making motorcycle engines - many used in scrambler, racing and speedway - and also the engines that powered Morgan three-wheelers. It was taken over by Villiers in 1957 and finally wound up in the 60's
