Working on Mary's instrument
Despite the wood-burning stove at the end, this workshop always seemed to be cold for 6 months of the year. A second harpsichord case can be seen standing on end; this was a single manual, destined for Maynooth Seminary in Ireland, now defunct. In order to save the brothers duty on the instrument, I agreed to invoice for painting only; this led to the harpsichord being impounded with 50 pigs in the Customs shed at Dun Laoghaire for a couple of hours while the misunderstanding was resolved.
