Spanish olivewood goblet, 2021

I had this blank for 30 years before turning it. Normally olivewood is oily and a delight to turn. This piece was extremely dry and required the tools to be constantly resharpened. The waves in the grain called for a wavy stem. The fine groove at the base of the bowl is intended to make it look as if the bowl is just sitting on top of the stem
