Slab glass
There were seven slits (originally for allowing air to enter to dry the hay) in our converted stone barn in the Peak District. This is the set of seven slab glass (dalles de verre) panels set in concrete to solve the problem of how to glaze the slits, using the theme of the sun and moon changing places in the sky over the course of a day. The 200 X 300mm slabs are manufactured by St Gobain in St Juste sur Loire, France. They were broken and shaped with a tungsten-tipped hammer.
