Ruby's box in action

Inspired by a Chinese box that hinges from the back and opens 180 degrees, the smaller drawers are made from sitka spruce and contain dividers for shiny pebbles and semi-precious or mineral stones. The other woods are ash, sapele bandings, a teak top panel (the teak recycled from an old-fashioned London bank) and a maple bottom panel. The bottom has felt strips to ensure an easy slide when opening the two sides.
