This too was killed by honey fungus. Some is too rotten to use at all, some I will quarter saw and plank - it has some fine figuring. The bowl blank was cut from the part where the trunk forked into two large branches - a so-called crotch log. You can see a small split in the discoloured area at about 5 to 12, where this section was just beginning to rot
