Lorraine's secret drawer box

The rounded bottom of the release rod fits into the lug with the chamfered hole, greased with tallow, and this pulls the drawer front tightly in to the side of the box, making it as little visible as possible. I had to make three versions of this lug, with the hole drilled in slightly different places, before selecting the one that did the job best. The double springs attached underneath the lug propels the drawer outwards for a couple of inches when the rod is withdrawn
