Emma's Christmas present

Maple box with walnut and boxwood bows and ribbon ends and inlaid ribbon of cherry and walnut. Knobs are from the severed tangs of goblets, to use every last piece of the precious woods.The lock is my design - I call it repulsive because it is based on the repelling power of magnets. Set into a perspex wheel which can be turned by the right hand knob, the magnets force two cylindrical ones joined together, that act like a bolt, to move into the wooden keeper in the lid. Other magnets set into the perspex keep the wheel, and hence the 'bolt', in position.
